Best Rank Tracking Software in 2026: 9 Tools Compared

By Fenn9 min readAgenciesToolsComparison

For about 1,000 keywords tracked daily, list prices as of October 2026 run from $89 a month (Wincher Standard) to $299 (Semrush Pro+). Dedicated trackers are cheapest per keyword: Wincher, ProRankTracker ($99 for 1,000), Advanced Web Ranking ($139, with 4,000+ search engines) and Keyword.com (from $3 a month for 50 weekly keywords). AccuRanker (from $249 for 2,000) sells speed, with on-demand refreshes. Suites cost more per keyword but include research and audits: SE Ranking tracks 2,000 daily keywords for $129, Semrush 500 for $139, and Ahrefs updates weekly on every plan. Check three things before price: update frequency, search engines, and how the vendor counts a keyword.

Best Rank Tracking Software: 9 Tools Compared

Prices, limits and features below come from each vendor's own pricing and help pages, checked on 12 October 2026, and are 'as of October 2026'. Prices are in US dollars except Nightwatch, which shows euros only. Several vendors show the annual-billed price per month by default; we give both where shown.

Three things to check before price

  • Update frequency: daily on most dedicated trackers; weekly on every Ahrefs plan; Semrush says Position Tracking generally updates daily within 24 to 48 hours.
  • Search engines: Google only (Keyword.com's Search Visibility plans, Wincher) or Google plus Bing, YouTube and others (Nightwatch, SE Ranking, AWR).
  • What a keyword means: Advanced Web Ranking counts one weekly check as one keyword, so daily tracking uses seven times the quota; Keyword.com counts desktop and mobile for the same phrase as two; ProRankTracker charges 2 terms per AI prompt.

The tools, one by one

AccuRanker: speed for large keyword sets

Professional starts at $249 a month ($224 billed yearly, a 10% saving) for 2,000 keywords and scales to 5,000 for $609; Expert runs from 10,000 keywords ($849) to 25,000 ($1,569), with more by quote. Rankings update daily, and AccuRanker says you can refresh a keyword or a whole domain every two hours. Expert adds an unlimited read API and Looker Studio; Professional connects Search Console and Google Analytics. AccuLLM, a separate AI tracker covering ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode, starts at $229 a month for 100 prompts. AccuRanker's terms say prepaid fees are non-refundable, and we could not confirm a free trial on its site. Best for: agencies and in-house teams tracking thousands of keywords who need fresh data on demand. Limit: the entry price is high for small portfolios.

SE Ranking: tracking inside a full suite

Core ($129 a month, $103.20 billed annually) tracks 2,000 keywords daily across 10 projects on Google, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube, with 3 local locations included; Growth ($279) tracks 5,000 across 30 projects. Extra keywords start at $22.40. Keyword research, audits, backlinks and 100 AI prompts are included. 14-day trial without a card. Best for: agencies that want rankings and the rest of their SEO work in one login. Limit: payments are non-refundable.

Wincher: low cost, simple

Basic is $49 a month ($41 billed yearly) for 500 keywords on up to 10 websites with one user; Standard $89 ($74) for 1,000 keywords on unlimited websites; Professional $319 ($266) from 5,000 keywords. Updates are daily, with on-demand updates, white-labelled reports, Looker Studio and the API from Standard. Local map tracking is weekly and uses credits. Wincher tracks Google, including AI Overviews as a SERP feature. 7-day free trial and a 7-day refund on a first purchase. Best for: freelancers and small agencies. Limit: Basic lacks on-demand updates and white-label reports.

Nightwatch: many engines, AI included

Prices are shown in euros: Starter €99 a month (€79 billed yearly) for 500 keywords and 50 AI prompts, Professional €199 (€159) for 2,500 keywords and 150 prompts, Agency €499 (€399) for 7,500 keywords and 500 prompts. Every plan tracks Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Google Maps daily, and AI prompts run across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overviews. White-label reports, Looker Studio and the API are listed from Professional. The trial is 14 days; the page says no card is required, while its FAQ describes an automatic charge if a trial is not cancelled. Best for: teams that want classic and AI rankings in one tracker. Limit: no US-dollar pricing shown.

Keyword.com: pay for exactly what you track

Search Visibility plans track Google only, priced by keyword count and frequency: 50 keywords weekly for $4 a month ($3 billed yearly), or daily for $16; 500 daily for $88. 360° Visibility plans add AI tracking credits, from $33 a month for 1,000 weekly keywords and from $131 for 1,000 daily. Every plan has unlimited users, location tracking down to ZIP code, and Search Console, Analytics and Looker Studio integrations; white-label reports are a $29 a month add-on. Desktop and mobile for the same phrase count as two. 14-day trial without a card, with 100 keywords and 20 AI credits. Best for: small portfolios and agencies that want to price per client precisely. Limit: Bing and YouTube are not mentioned on its pricing page.

Advanced Web Ranking: the widest engine coverage

Pro is $139 a month ($125 billed yearly), Agency $279 ($251) and Enterprise $699 ($629). AWR counts a keyword as one weekly check on one engine and device, 5 pages deep, so daily tracking uses seven times the units: Pro's 7,000 units cover about 1,000 daily keywords. It lists 4,000+ search engines including YouTube, Amazon, Yahoo, Bing, Naver and Baidu, unlimited users and projects, and updates from daily to monthly or on demand. AI visibility for AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini is included and uses the same quota. White-label and the API start on Agency. 7-day trial without a card, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Best for: international and multi-engine tracking. Limit: the unit maths needs care.

ProRankTracker: daily Google and YouTube

Starter is $99 a month ($89 billed yearly) for 1,000 terms, Pro $149 ($134) for 2,000 (the same card also shows $129, so confirm at checkout), and Agency from $199 ($179) for 3,000 terms up to 20,000. It tracks Google and YouTube daily to the top 100, plus local and mobile, and AI answers across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity and Grok, with each AI prompt using 2 terms. 7-day trial tracking 100 terms. It gives no prorated refunds on cancellation or downgrade. Best for: agencies that want a branded client app and daily tracking at a mid price. Limit: pricing pages contain small contradictions.

Semrush Position Tracking

Included in Semrush plans: 500 keywords on the SEO plan ($139 a month), 1,500 on Pro+ ($299) and 5,000 on Advanced ($549). Semrush says data generally updates daily within 24 to 48 hours and cannot be scheduled manually. It covers Google, Bing and Baidu, plus ChatGPT Search and Google AI Mode, down to postal-code level. The free plan tracks 10 keywords. Best for: teams already using Semrush. Limit: few keywords per dollar compared with dedicated trackers.

Ahrefs Rank Tracker

Included in Ahrefs plans: 750 keywords on Lite ($129 a month), 2,000 on Standard ($249) and 5,000 on Advanced ($449), from country to ZIP-code level, with 19 SERP features including AI Overviews. Ahrefs' help center says the default update frequency is weekly on all plans. No trial. Best for: Ahrefs users who report rankings monthly. Limit: weekly updates rule it out for daily monitoring.

Rankings and AI answers

A page can rank first and still be left out of the answer an assistant gives. Several trackers above now sell AI prompt tracking next to rankings (AccuLLM, Nightwatch, Keyword.com, AWR, ProRankTracker), mostly covering ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI features. Fenn does not track keyword rankings. It asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok the questions your buyers ask, when you start a check, and turns the gaps into site fixes and page drafts you approve and publish. Plans start at $29 a month, set up after a demo.
