How Much Does Rank Tracking Cost? Prices by Volume (2026)
Rank tracking costs from about $5 a month for 75 keywords to around $849 a month for 10,000 keywords tracked daily, as of November 2026. For 1,000 keywords tracked daily, expect roughly $65 to $125 a month on dedicated trackers and suites: SE Ranking works out at $64.50 per 1,000, Serprobot about $67, Wincher $89, ProRankTracker $99 and AccuRanker $124.50. Weekly tracking costs far less: Keyword.com's 360° plan is $33 a month for 1,000 weekly keywords. The real bill depends on update frequency, the number of locations and devices, and add-ons such as white-label reports.

What rank tracking costs at each volume
| You track | Lower-cost option | Mid option | Higher-end option |
|---|---|---|---|
| About 75 keywords daily | Serprobot, $4.99 | Wincher Basic, $49 (500) | Not needed |
| 1,000 keywords daily | Serprobot, 14 bots, $69.86 | Wincher Standard, $89 | SE Ranking Core, $129 (2,000) |
| 2,000 keywords daily | SE Ranking Core, $129 | ProRankTracker Pro, $149 | AccuRanker, $249 |
| 5,000 keywords daily | SE Ranking Growth, $279 | Wincher Professional, $319 | AccuRanker, $609 |
| 10,000 keywords daily | Ask Keyword.com: custom packages start from $490 | AccuRanker, $849 ($764 billed yearly) | An enterprise quote |
Serprobot's 14 bots are 1,050 keywords at $4.99 each. It charges per bot rather than per plan, so it stays cheap at small volumes and loses its edge once you need reports for clients.
What changes the price
Update frequency
Daily costs more than weekly because the tool runs more searches. Advanced Web Ranking states this plainly: one of its keyword units is one query made weekly, for one search engine and one device, down to five pages of results. Its 7,000-unit Pro plan therefore covers about 1,000 keywords checked daily rather than 7,000. Ahrefs Rank Tracker updates weekly, and Mangools updates weekly below its Agency plan.
Locations and devices
Most trackers count combinations, not words. ProRankTracker defines a term as one keyword plus URL plus engine, location and device. So 100 keywords in 5 cities on mobile and desktop is 1,000 terms, not 100. Decide what you will really act on before you multiply. Tracking both devices for every keyword is often the most expensive habit in a rank tracking budget.
Search depth
Keyword.com describes two depths, a top 50 option and a top 100 option. ProRankTracker's plans update the top 100 daily, and Advanced Web Ranking's unit covers five pages, or 50 results. If you only act on page one and two, depth matters little; if you are measuring a new site climbing from position 80, it matters a lot.
Add-ons and agency costs
- White-label: Keyword.com charges $29 a month or $278 a year, and SE Ranking's Agency Pack is $69 a month on annual billing. Wincher includes white-labelled reports from Standard, and Nightwatch from Professional.
- Seats: Nightwatch has no per-seat fees, AccuRanker's plans include unlimited users, and SE Ranking charges from $16 for each extra manager seat.
- API access: AccuRanker's Expert plan adds an unlimited read API, Nightwatch's API starts on Professional, and SE Ranking sells a separate API add-on.
- AI prompts: ProRankTracker counts an AI prompt as 2 terms, so AI tracking eats a shared allowance faster.
How to keep the bill down
- Group keywords into those you act on weekly and those you only report on. Put the second group on weekly updates where the tool allows it.
- Track mobile only unless a client has a clear reason to see both. Google uses the mobile version of content for indexing and ranking.
- Track one location per market unless the business is local.
- Use Search Console for the long tail, since it is free, and pay for tracking only on the keywords you report by name.
- Pay yearly only after a trial on real data: SE Ranking's payments are non-refundable, while AccuRanker offers a 14-day refund, Wincher 7 days on a first purchase and Advanced Web Ranking 30 days.
A quick way to estimate your cost
Multiply keywords by locations by devices to get your real tracked count. Decide whether that count needs daily or weekly updates. Match the result to the table above, then add seats and white-label if clients will see the output. For an agency, divide the total by the number of clients to get the line item for each retainer.
| Example | Calculation | Tracked count | Plan that fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local business | 60 keywords x 3 cities x 1 device | 180 daily | Wincher Basic, $49 |
| Small agency | 10 clients x 100 keywords x 1 device | 1,000 daily | Wincher Standard, $89 |
| Mid-size agency | 25 clients x 150 keywords x 1 device | 3,750 daily | SE Ranking Growth, $279 |
Where Fenn fits
Rank tracking tells you where a page sits in a search result. Fenn is a different budget line: it asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok the questions your buyers ask when you start a check, then prepares site fixes and page drafts for approval. It does not track keyword rankings, so it sits beside a tracker. Plans are $29 a month for one website, $79 for up to 3 and $199 for up to 25, set up after a demo.
FAQ
How much does a rank tracker cost per month?
From under $5 a month for 75 keywords to about $849 for 10,000 tracked daily, with most small teams paying $49 to $129 a month.
Why are some rank trackers so much cheaper?
They track fewer keywords, update less often, stop at fewer results or leave out research, audit and reporting tools. Compare the same frequency, depth and location settings.
Is daily rank tracking worth paying for?
For keywords you act on, usually. Rankings wobble day to day, so weekly is often enough for reporting and costs far less. Keep daily for pages you are changing.
How many keywords should I track?
Track the keywords you would change something for if they moved, plus a sample of the rest. Use Search Console for the long tail.
How much does rank tracking cost an agency?
Ten clients at 100 keywords each fits Wincher Standard at $89 a month, with white-labelled reports included. Twenty-five clients at 150 keywords fits SE Ranking Growth at $279, plus the Agency Pack if you need white label.
